BARBRA BARTH FELDMAN
PERFORMING ARTS CENTER

Our Vision

To Honor Barbra’s memory with the creation of a world-class theater by renovating Hessel Hall and renaming it the Barbra Barth Feldman Performing Arts Center.

On August 8th, 2019, we lost our beloved Barbra Barth Feldman, ‘82.

We are working diligently to raise money in her honor to renovate the entirety of what is currently Hessel Hall. This renovation will include fully renovated music classrooms for the Upper, Middle, and Lower school, a brand new dance and yoga studio with Black Box Theater capability, upgraded and renovated private lesson spaces for music and theater students, a fully refinished interior and exterior, and a revised and updated arts curriculum that will complete her vision – to have a state of the art performing arts center for the students of LWA that will be a staple in the community for decades to come. Upon completion of this fundraiser, we are excited to announce that we will be renaming the building the Barbra Barth Feldman Performing Arts Center.

100% of your contribution to this project in honor of Barbra will go directly to the completion of all renovations and upgrades. Donors will be continuously updated throughout the project so you can share the completion of this goal with us in real time, as each phase is complete.

We can’t do this without you and your help, and we all know that Barbra would love to know that so many hands went into creating this. 100% of your donation will go towards the full renovation of the music classrooms for the Upper, Middle and Lower school, a new dance and yoga studio with Black Box Theater capability, upgraded and renovated private lesson spaces for music and theater students, a fully refinished interior and exterior and a revised and updated arts curriculum.

WHY THIS MATTERS

Tireless, selfless and passionate are some of the words that describe Barbra Barth Feldman ’82, who died on August 8 following a sudden illness. Her 17-year-old son, Andrew called her a superwoman—perhaps her showing up every night in the first six weeks of his Broadway debut had something to do with it. Her friend, Jackie called her an angel. The LWA alumna and former Headmaster made everyone feel like they mattered. With an infectious smile and laugh, Barbra transformed lives and her fierce but compassionate spirit lives on in her students, staff and in the theater she loved.
