A College Preparatory Education Since 1912

For nearly 100 years we have been preparing each and every one of our students to go to college. The curriculum is rigorous and designed for teaching students, not teaching standardized tests. We provide our children with the knowledge and skills they require to be successful when they leave Lawrence Woodmere Academy.

“College guidance at Lawrence Woodmere Academy is a four-year partnership with each student and each family.  Our aim is to shape an academic profile for each student that combines educational aspirations and interests outside the classroom.  We provide our students with the tools necessary to navigate the college admissions process…taking the tests, making intelligent course selections, creating a college list, preparing for admissions interviews or campus visits and tapping financial resources.  Lawrence Woodmere Academy’s College Rooms provide a place for students to receive intensive and honest feedback on college essays and other application materials. 

Our mission is to develop in each student, the poise, intellectual curiosity and enthusiasm that admissions officers tell me they have come to appreciate from Lawrence Woodmere Academy students.  Our graduates can say with confidence, “I am ready for college”.
