BRIAN O'CONNELL

HEAD OF SCHOOL

Mr. O’Connell, a multiple award winning principal, served as an educator with the New York City Department of Education for 29 years.

He was the founding principal of The Scholars Academy in Rockaway Park, Queens, New York and spent 16 years as principal. 

Prior to this, he served as the principal of P.S./M.S 114 in Belle Harbor, Queens.  Mr. O’Connell was a teacher at P.S. 203 and P.S. 236 and an assistant principal at P.S. 236 in Brooklyn.

Mr. O’Connell holds New York State certification for both school level administration and supervision and district level supervision and administration.

Safety & Security Leadership

Lorin W. Clark

DIRECTOR OF Safety & Security

Lorin W. Clark serves as the Director of Safety and Security. He is a retired NYPD Police Lieutenant. During his 20 year tenure with the NYPD, he served in the Counter-Terrorism Division. Lorin also served as the Commander of the Community Outreach Unit, working closely with the NYC Public Schools. He is a former Police Academy and School Safety Academy Instructor.
