TECHNOLOGY TEACHER & ED TECH INTEGRATOR

Grades 7-12

Position Available September 2019

Candidate needs to be able to provide a wide range of computer science courses which may include, but not be limited to topics in:

  • Programming with Python, Java, Web Programming (i.e. HTML, Javascript, PHP, MySQL)
  • Mobile App Development
  • AP Computer Science

Candidate will have the opportunity for Project Lead the Way professional development and training. Experience with Project Lead the Way and technology certifications are desirable.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or the equivalent.
  • Experience working with adolescents.
  • The ability to remain up-to-date on current educational strategies, and trends in computer education.
  • Comfortable troubleshooting students’ development environments.
  • Have a successful track record teaching digital literacy and digital citizenship.
  • Have interest in and experience with curriculum design.

MATH TEACHER

Grades 9-12

Position Available September 2019

Candidate should have teaching experience in Calculus but ability to teach all content areas of mathematics and all levels. Knowledge of statistics a plus. Candidate must have a degree in Mathematics and meet highly qualified standards.

MANDARIN TEACHER

Grades 8-12

Position Available September 2019

Ideal candidates must possess a deep understanding of grade level appropriate content knowledge and the ability to deliver engaging lessons. 

Candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in Mandarin education or the equivalent, experience working with adolescents, and the ability to remain up-to-date on current educational strategies, and trends in language learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide a range of instructional, management and assessment strategies to meet the different needs of students while following the scope and sequence of the department.
  • Create thoughtful and engaging unit and lesson plans daily that will entice students into appreciating language and culture with lessons taught in the target language as much as possible.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across content areas and grade levels.
    Participate in creating, revising, administering, and grading assessments.
  • Provide tutoring to small student groups as required.
  • Serve as advisor.
  • Assist with non-instructional supervision of students as needed.
  • Keep accurate and organized records of student information.

ESOL TEACHER

Grades 8-12

Position Available September 2019

A background in history is preferred. Building on the department’s existing program and working in conjunction with a collaborative team, this position offers candidates the chance to work with English Language Learners who are eager to build their skills as readers, writers and students.

Ideal candidates will have TESOL experience or will have international/cross-cultural teaching/living experience and a willingness to engage in ongoing professional development.

ART TEACHER

Grades 7-12

Candidate needs to be able to provide a wide range of art courses which may include, but not be limited to:

  • Drawing and Painting (beginner and advanced)
  • Ceramics
  • Sculpture
  • AP Art
  • Mixed media opportunities

Qualified candidates will have experience working with a diverse community of students to infuse culture, global perspective and art history into all aspects of the art curriculum. The process-oriented classroom will require the teacher to focus on helping students express their creative voice while mastering art skills. We seek a candidate who is creative, innovative, well organized.

PRE-SCHOOL TEACHING ASSISTANT

Pre-School

Position Available September 2019

Candidate will be working with a 3’s / 4’s program, along-side a Head Teacher.

Experience with and love for working with young children and an undergraduate degree in Early Childhood Education are required. The successful candidate will be a proven team player who is flexible, resourceful and can share innovative ideas for the Pre-School class.
