Math Teacher
Lower and Middle School
 
Position available September 2018, Lawrence Woodmere Academy, a Pre-School through 12th grade non-sectarian independent school located on the South Shore of Long Island, seeks a dynamic Lower and Middle School math teacher.Candidates must have a college degree in education, with masters degree a plus. Experience with teaching Singapore Math will be given preferential consideration. He/she will be able to work effectively with a diverse population of students, including some ESL students. The qualified candidate will have the ability to use multiple teaching approaches to meet varied learning styles. The potential to have this position also support technology instruction in the Middle School is being considered, but the qualified candidate must have math instruction as their primary focus.

Technology Teacher
Grades 5-12
 
Position available September 2018, Lawrence Woodmere Academy, a PreSchool through 12th grade non-sectarian independent school located on the South Shore of Long Island, seeks a Technology Teacher and Ed Tech Integrator for grades 5-12. Dedicated/Intensive Tech instruction is offered from grades 5-8 and competitive Tech electives are offered from grades 9-12. Successful candidates will have experience with web development and app design, video production, graphic and 3D design, coding/programming skills, Digital Citizenship and robotics, to name just a few of the areas of instruction that need to be addressed. A strong understanding of more recent technological advancements and experience with teaching technology are necessary requirements for success. Experience with Maker Space instruction is helpful. This position will require the successful candidate to help develop the curriculum for technology and support the Communications and Social Media team. We seek someone who is innovative, creative, well organized, has strong people skills, and enjoys working with students in Middle and Upper School.
