what's new in 2013

LWA Summer Day continues to reach new heights! Here are the added programs in 2013.

LWA CHAMPION SPORTS ACADEMY (CSA) (grades 2-7)

We are so thrilled to announce a new full-immersion program for children entering 2nd grade and up and interested in SPORTS, SPORTS, SPORTS, new for 2013. Each child will engage in 1/2 day athletic clinics including 1 week of British Soccer Camp and 1 week of Maximum Lacrosse Clinic, participate in daily intramurals competition and select several athletic "minors" throughout the summer, focusing on skills, drills and total physical fun!

The children will still enjoy 2 swims daily, our hot lunch and our optional clubs (including athletics and arts) that all children can choose on their own, as well as attend all Summer Day special events and regular trips for their age group. Our world-class professional staff and visiting coaches will encourage children to reach a high level of performance in athletics and have a load of fun! The group will also attend a behind the scenes stadium tour, multiple ball games and visit Chelsea Piers and Aviator.

(This program is $500 additional from standard tuition including 1 week of British Soccer Camp tuition.) Let your children join us in soaring into athletics and become real champions!

LWA SUMMER PRE-CAMP (Grades K-7)

6/12-6/18 and/or 6/19-6/26 ($600/week)

If you are looking for an exciting program for your children before Summer Day begins, join us for LWASD Pre-Camp. Children will engage in exciting activities and local trips during the weeks between when school ends and when Summer Day begins. The program runs daily from 10-4 and includes trips.Transportation is not provided, but Manhattan transportation is available at $250/week to and from our campus.

LWA MAGIC CAMP (Grades 3-7)

You will become a fully practicing magician and learn to perform both stunning stage feats and dazzling close-up innovations! This summer you'll discover the magic secrets tightly guarded for centuries, passed down only from magician to magician. Each trick is specially tailored to suit a young magician's unique talents; because we know your amazing abilities are as vast as your imagination. All the tricks you've learned are yours to keep at the end of the camp! So show off your summer talents! When they ask with amazement "How did you do that?" you can smile and say "Simple, it's magic"

LWA AVIATION CAMP (Grades 3-7)

Our campers build high-flying balsa wood motorized airplanes that can climb to altitudes as far as four stories. Just make sure to watch out for birds! Sleek, fast, and efficient, these crafts shoot toward the sun in rocket-like ascent. Next, you'll discover our Long Distance Fliers that are made for wind endurance, traveling lengths as great as a football field and maintaining flight durations of up to three minutes. You can't miss out on that incredible fun! Don't miss making your very own stunt machines. Whether handling sharp maneuvers or sweeping through loops and curves, these models are sure to amaze. Each model is built from scratch and is yours to keep at the end of the camp! So spend your summer streaking through the great blue sky with your very own Flying Machines!
