LWA viewing of the Magna Carta at Fraunces Tavern Museum
October 30, 2009
On Thursday, October 22, Lawrence Woodmere Academy hosted an independent school cocktail reception at Fraunces Tavern Museum to view the Magna Carta. LWA hosted this event through the generosity and support of Allison White Vadhan, who is a parent of LWA students Julie '18 and Rachel '14, and the Director of Development and Special Assistant to the Executive Director for the Magna Carta.
In the almost 800 years since it was written, this copy of the Magna Carta has visited New York just twice. "Magna Carta and the Foundations of Freedom" also includes broadsides of the U.S. Constitution, Declaration of Independence, Bill of Rights and the Flushing Remonstrance.
