American-Jewish/German Youth Exchange Program -- APRIL, 2009

Lawrence Woodmere Academy hosted a presentation on the American-Jewish/German Youth Exchange Program on Wednesday, April 1, at 2:00pm. The exchange coordinator and spiritual leader of Temple Israel in Lawrence, Rabbi Jay Rosenbaum, gave a keynote speech which was followed by a cultural discussion led by the students involved in the exchange program.

The students from Berlin were the guests of local students at LWA, Hewlett High School, and Lawrence High School, visited cultural sites in Manhattan, and met the German Ambassador to the U.S. after a tour of the United Nations. The German students visited the United States through one of many inter cultural and inter religious programs available through Temple Israel.
