middle school global concerns workshop, november 2008

The Middle School participated in a full day Global Concerns workshop on Friday, November 14. The workshop challenged students' critical thinking, communication, and listening skills and it will give them an opportunity to examine some of the most important global issues of our time with their peers.

Throughout the course of the day, the students were presented with facts and information from specialists in the international field; they worked in small groups to design a strategy for various countries; they were provided with country information packets, statistics and other resources to serve as references throughout the activity; and they were given the opportunity to present their country's plans to the entire Middle School at the end of the day.
