LWA Teacher Gets Involved in "Mustaches for Kids"

James Bogdan, a Middle School science teacher, has been looking a little different lately in an effort to inspire people to raise money for kids.

Papp's Poetry Cafe

As bongos played, twenty-two LWA juniors took to the podium to present their poems at Papp’s Poetry Café in room SO1. Tables were covered in red and white gingham tablecloths, and the beatnik poets themselves sat back in black clothes and berets.

LWA Kicks Off "Academy Connections" With Law Networking Event

David Feldman ('78W) and Barbra Barth Feldman ('82W) hosted our first Academy Connections networking event for those considering a career in law or looking for networking opportunities to advance their career on Thursday, November 15, 2007 in Manhattan.

College Board Announces AP Scholars

This fall, the College Board announced that three current students at Lawrence Woodmere Academy earned the designation of AP Scholar by the College Board in recognition of their exceptional achievement on the college-level Advanced Placement Program® (AP®) Exams.

Nancy Falchuk ('62W) National President of Hadassah
October 29, 2007
Nancy Falchuk, a native of Woodmere, accepted the position of National President of Hadassah in July of this year. She is a current resident of Newton Center, Massachusetts.

Kindergarten Studies Korean

Global awareness starts early here at LWA, just ask any Kindergarten student. The class has recently begun their study of the Korean Language, led by Caroline Kim, Middle and Upper School English as a Second Language (ESL) teacher.

LWA Middle School Helps Break Guinness World Record

Middle School students at Lawrence Woodmere Academy helped break the Guinness World Record for the largest number of people to “STAND UP AGAINST POVERTY” in 24 hours.

LWA Girls' Varsity Soccer Season Is Off to a Great Start

It was déjà vu for many members of the Lawrence Woodmere Academy Girl's Varsity Soccer Team yesterday. They celebrated a 3-2 victory over the Long Island Lutheran Crusaders.

LWA Names New Middle School Director
