Lower School Math Specialist (part time)

Lawrence Woodmere Academy is seeking a part-time Lower School Math Specialist beginning September, 2013. Candidates should be qualified to work with students in grades K-4 and have experience differentiating instruction.  The candidate should also be able to work with our faculty to help support classroom instruction. Familiarity with Singapore Math is a plus. In addition, the candidate should have excellent communication skills with parents. Requirements: Elementary Education degree, with a math concentration, Masters preferred; experience working with students in grades K-4.

 

Pre-School Teaching Assistant

Lawrence Woodmere Academy is seeking a full-time Pre-School teaching assistant beginning September, 2013 for a 3’s/4’s program, working with a head teacher. Experience with and love for working with young children and an undergraduate degree in Early Childhood Education are required. A Master’s degree is desirable. The successful candidate will be a proven team player who is flexible, resourceful and can share innovative ideas for the Pre-School class.

 

ESL Teacher for grades 8-12

Lawrence Woodmere Academy is seeking a full-time ESL teacher beginning September, 2013 for grades 8-12. Candidates should be qualified to work with ESL students and should be able to teach in a student-centered, active manner. In addition, they should have excellent communication skills. Requirements: ESL background with experience preferred. Masters preferred.

 

ESL/Mandarin Chinese Instructor

Lawrence Woodmere Academy is seeking a full-time ESL/Mandarin instructor.  Candidates should be qualified to work with ESL students, primarily Chinese, as well as teach Mandarin to American students.  Candidate should be able to teach in a student-centered, active manner and have excellent communication skills.  Requirements:  ESL background, ability to teach Mandarin.  Experience preferred.                        

 

Information Technology Coordinator (12 month position beginning July 1st)

Lawrence Woodmere Academy is seeking an Information Technology Coordinator with responsibilities to include: oversight of the library and media resources, management of the school's databases and website, educational technology integration for grades 9-12, technology instruction, and professional development. The ideal candidate must possess excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills, and be able to problem-solve in a demanding academic environment. 

  1. Database System Maintenance and Management

  2. Website Management (intranet and internet)
    • Intranet (“Tigernet”) maintenance and administration through Drupal Content Management System (CMS)
    • Website maintenance and administration (user accounts, update pages and portals)
  3. Technology Instruction
    • Technology integration for the Upper School (grades 9-12)
      • design technology-infused projects and coordinate appropriate equipment and software
      • research new products
    • Course maintenance and administration through Moodle Learning Management System (LMS)
    • Assist faculty and staff in acquiring the skills they need to use available technology
      • Identify needs and implement training
    • Upper School instruction and student support
