History Teacher
Grades 9-12

Position available starting September 2017. Interested candidates should have experience teaching history survey courses and specialized electives. Experience with AP history instruction is a plus. Qualified candidates will have experience with integrating technology as a tool for effective instruction, for support of curriculum planning, and for clear communication. In addition, he/she will display an ability and willingness to learn and adapt to evolving teaching strategies.  He/she will understand the principles of differentiated instruction and will have effective teaching techniques to address multiple learning styles. A global perspective consistent with our strands of focus is essential: inter and intra-cultural connectivity, global economy, social justice/human rights, and sustainability/environment. An ability to infuse those strands into curriculum planning and classroom activities is imperative. In addition, strong written and oral skills are expected. He/she must be energetic, organized and detail oriented.

Learning Specialist (one year leave replacement)
Grades K-6

Position available starting September 2017. Qualified candidates should have a literacy background. Math expertise is a plus. He/she should be proficient in administering informal and formal assessments and will need to be able to meet the needs of students with varied learning styles. The ability to offer multiple approaches, strategies, and support for both small class groupings and individual one on one settings is required. Comfort using technology when needed to support instruction is essential, as is flexibility in terms of being responsive to the needs of all students.
